(Portugal).- Local firm Sonae Group seeks for association with hotel chains in order to build and run a us$ 362 million casino hotel complex in Troia peninsula, a seaside resort located 50 kilometers from Lisbon. It will be operated by Amorim group.


The company has investments in Europe, Africa and America.

The complex will include not only the construction of five hotels but also the building of a yatch port, an acuarium and several sports centers. Belmiro de Azevedo, president of Sonae Group, signed a contract with the Minister of Economy of Portugal, Manuel Pinho, in order to install a casino resort there. “Troia is the Grupo Sonae symbol for the development of touristic activities”, pointed de Azevedo.

Sonae Group has investments in Spain, United Kingdom, France, South Africa, Canada and Brazil, in the gaming industry as well as in telecommunications, tourism, transport and real estate.
