Former ABQ Hard Rock Re-Opens as Native-Style Isleta Resort & Casino.

On July 12, the Enterprise of the Pueblo of Isleta debuted its new Isleta Resort & Casino- a return to its pueblo roots from the previously branded Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Albuquerque. The property, featuring priceless Native American artwork, has been redesigned as a modern American Indian-style resort and casino, states a tribal press release.

“It is with great pleasure that we introduce the new Isleta Resort & Casino to the community and welcome everyone to enjoy the luxury of our new Las Vegas-style casino combined with the rich traditions and elegance of the Isleta pueblo,” said Pamela Gallegos, CEO at Isleta Resort & Casino. “After nearly three years as Hard Rock, we learned that our guests preferred and identified more with the Isleta brand. We merged together all the best elements of both properties and have opened today New Mexico’s foremost Native American gaming casino.”

At the grand opening, the resort’s eight-story building and glass tower appears to virtually fill up with water and burst-a visual created with architectural projection mapping and three-dimensional video technology-the first time it has been employed in New Mexico. The breaking glass unveils the Isleta logo, which is transfigured into an eagle that soars across the sky. The entire edifice of the actual building then deconstructs to reveal 100-foot, three-dimensionally projected images of the new property including the completely redesigned casino, a luxury hotel, a championship golf course, fully stocked lakes for fishing, fine dining, indoor and outdoor pools, bowling and more. The first show begins at dusk on Friday, July 12 marking the launch of the new resort and casino, and could be seen from miles away. The shows will continue to begin successively every 15 minutes from dusk until 2 a.m. nightly.
