New Caesars Palace at Sea aboard Crystal Serenity liner extends Park Place gaming operations to 29 properties

LAS VEGAS - Caesars Palace at Sea stamped its passport in new ports around the world this month during the inaugural voyage of Crystal Serenity, the newest luxury liner in the fleet of Los Angeles-based Crystal Cruises.

The launch extends gaming operations of Caesars parent company Park Place Entertainment Corporation (NYSE:PPE - News) to a total of three shipboard casinos and increases the company's total worldwide gaming properties to 29.

The Caesars-brand casino's debut voyage coincides with the announcement that Park Place plans to change its corporate name to Caesars Entertainment, Inc. Pending shareholder and regulatory approval, the name change will take effect in January 2004.

With more than 4,000-square feet of gaming space, Crystal Serenity's Caesars Palace at Sea is one of the largest luxury liner casinos, offering 93 slot machines and 8 table games to the ship's cosmopolitan clientele.

The newest of three Caesars Palace at Sea casinos continues the exclusive alliance between Crystal Cruises and Park Place Entertainment. The shipboard casinos extend the Caesars brand beyond its land-based customers to discriminating clientele who enjoy world travel and gaming. The Caesars Palace at Sea casinos also offer added international job opportunities to Park Place employees.

The 1,080-guest, 68,000-ton Crystal Serenity officially entered service on July 7, with a 14-day Northern Europe "Grand Inaugural Voyage," round-trip from Southampton to popular destinations in northern Europe.

Her maiden season continues with summer cruises in Europe, the Mediterranean, followed by a trans- Atlantic crossing, two Caribbean & Panama Canal voyages, and a combined Christmas and New Year's Mexican Riviera sailing, round-trip from Los Angeles.

Five in Mississippi: In Tunica County - Grand Casino Tunica, Bally's Tunica and the Sheraton Tunica. On the Mississippi Gulf Coast - Grand Casino Gulfport and Grand Casino Biloxi.

One in Louisiana: In New Orleans - Bally's Casino New Orleans.

One in Indiana: In Elizabeth, Indiana - Caesars Indiana.

Three in Canada: In Windsor, Ontario - Casino Windsor. In Sydney, Nova Scotia - Casino Nova Scotia Sydney. In Halifax, Nova Scotia - Casino Nova Scotia Halifax.

Two in Australia: In Brisbane - Conrad Treasury. In Broadbeach, Queensland - Conrad Jupiters Gold Coast.

One in South Africa: Near Johannesburg - Caesars Gauteng.
