Many major Las Vegas casinos now bring in as much revenue from hotels, dining, entertainment and shopping as from gambling since the desert city launched Broadway-type shows and other forms of entertainment. The industry, long known for free drinks and rooms for high rollers, has also launched loyalty programs to reach a wider group of customers.

Mandalay, which owns the pyramidal Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Circus Circus and other resorts, said it would use the new software tracking program to get a better idea of who its best customers were and invite them back.
