Frankfurt (Thomson Financial) - A Karlsruhe, Germany-based court ruled that Austrian sports betting company BWIN Interactive Entertainment AG is allowed to accept wagers from customers in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Stuttgarter Nachrichten reported, citing a spokesman for the Karlsruhe regional council.

The administrative court ordered that a previous judgment forcing the company to stop accepting wagers from these customers should not be executed as such a regionally limited ban is technically not enforceable, the newspaper said in an excerpt of an article to be published tomorrow.

The spokesman told the newspaper the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg will appeal the court decision at the administrative court in Mannheim, Germany.

BWIN has about 2 mln customers in Germany of which several hundred thousand are in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the newspaper said, citing industry experts' estimates. Yahoo! Finance
