Lindgren Takes Down Major Sunday FTOPS Event, Sunday Million Has Another Big Day
Full Tilt Online Poker Series VII Event No. 9: $1 Million-Guaranteed No-Limit Hold'em
The railbirds are usually pretty crazy at the final tables of major events on Full Tilt, but those watching the final table of the $1 million-guaranteed event in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series VII (FTOPS) last night set the bar at an all-time high. What was the occassion? Poker pro Erick Lindgren, a Full Tilt-sponsored player, made it to the final table of the event and eventually took it down.
The prize pool for the event was $1.691,100, and Lindgren outlasted 5,635 other entrants to get heads up with Kochan. Lindgren eventually landed the final blow to pocket the huge $292,000 top prize, the largest payday of the night.
The final results were:
Erick “Erick Lindgren” Lindgren — $291,748 Kochan — $176,719 No Woman No Cry — $113,641 ryhenicee — $88,782 Renatex01 — $66,789 darrenelias — $49,887 madmax79 — $38,895 gettin deep — $29,594 augie00 — $21,984
PokerStars Sunday Million
The PokerStars Sunday Million had another good night yesterday when 7,786 entrants bought into the event. The buy-ins generated a total prize pool of $1,557,200, which meant the Sunday Million missed out on having the biggest prize pool of the weekend to the ninth event in the FTOPS (above). The first-place finisher here stood to pocket $220,000 if no deal was made at the final table.
However, as is often the case in the Sunday Million, a deal was made at the final table. The final three players — tomgus456, haxxories, and 4JesseJames4 — made a deal that guaranteed all three players six-figure paydays. Tomgus456 was guaranteed the majority of the money as the chip leader, and was guaranteed to leave the table with the most money even if he finished in second place, despite money being left on the table for the eventual winner. When it came down to it, though, tomgus456 became the last man standing and collected the extra money for a total winnings of $189,000.
The final results were:
tomgus456 — $189,487 * haxxories — $115,654 * 4JesseJames4 — $102,845 * mbouh — $62,288 SitAndStack — $46,716 Wibez — $34,258 UNLEASHED66 — $24,137 david_a — $14,015 scoots_mc — $9,187 * Payout reflects a three-way deal made at the final table
UltimateBet $200,000 Guarantee
The UltimateBet $200,000-guaranteed event had 989 entrants last night. That attendance number was unusually low, as the tournament has recently been continuously breaking its own records for number of entrants. Two weeks ago, the event had 1,092 entrants. Last week's tournament was held during the Super Bowl and saw the entry numbers drop, expectedly, to 800. The fact that the tournament required an overlay (even as small as $2,200, as it was) this week was surprising.
Notable Internet player Christian “charder30” Harder made it to threehanded play in the event. He was facing raaazib and 8balldeluxe, both players who have done well in this tournament previously. Charder30 missed out on heads-up play when he was sent to the rail in third place. 8balldeluxe then took down the event when he eliminated raaazib. He earned $45,000 for first place.
The final results were:
8balldeluxe — $45,000 raaazib — $26,500 Christian “charder30” Harder — $18,000 geirto — $13,100 repdachi — $10,500 Resolute777 — $8,500 Angelica — $6,500 maug13 — $4,500 tadpole76 — $3,400 jschnett — $2,000
Bodog $100,000 Guarantee
The Bodog $100,000-guaranteed tournament had 810 entrants last night, up substantially from the 621 entrants of last week (during the Super Bowl). Bodog put up a $19,000 overlay to match the posted guarantee for the event.
When it came down to the final two players, it was ezmoney31 versus bzimzim. Bzimzim wound up raking in the final pot to earn $25,000, while ezmoney31 made $14,000 for second place.
The final results were:
bzimzim — $25,000 ezmoney31 — $14,000 DeCodeD — $9,000 cvanm — $6,500 Remih — $5,400 lowdog — $4,400 will19 — $3,400 matt1269 — $2,400 Ned Reyerson — $1,550
