On Tuesday, November 7, 1995 at 5:35 a.m., a mere 100 pounds of dynamite brought a part of Las Vegas history to a dusty end.



The Landmark Hotel and Casino was imploded by its new owner, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, which purchased it in 1990. In its place will soon be a new 22 acre parking area for over 2000 future convention attendees. The implosion of the Landmark Hotel, which stood 365 ft tall with 31 stories and 500 rooms, was the second tallest building in the world ever imploded.

The Landmark Tower war ein Hotel und Casino in Las Vegas Nevada. The Landmark öffnete am 1. Juli 1969 und war 21 Jahre für seine Gäste ein beliebtes Casino und Hotel. Die Schliessung war am 8. August 1990.

Am 7. November 1995 wurde das Landmark schliesslich gesprengt.
