Expanding its Macau coverage, PokerStars will open the doors on Thursday to its new poker room at Macau’s Grand Lisboa.

With 22 tables, the poker room will be the largest in continental Asia, according to the online poker site. It will also be the host of weekly poker tournaments, the premiere “Macau Poker Cup” series every other month and the annual Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau Poker Festival.

“PokerStars is committed to the development of poker across Asia, and this new room will be its heart,” said Joe Hachem, a member of Team PokerStars Pro, in a prepared statement. “It has been extraordinary for me to watch the growth of poker culture in the eighteen months since the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour first brought poker to Macau.”
