02.04.2009, The crisis affects the economy of families in Andalusia, but many still want to bet their money on slot machines, bingo and the casinos.

According to figures from the Ministry of Interior, the volume of game (undiscounted amounts plays the part that returns the player as a prize) remains unchanged at just Andalusia, reaching, in 2008, 2651.11 million, only 40.2 million less than the previous year (which was 2691.40 million). This represents a decrease of 1.5% over the 2007 volume of game.

The volume of the game in Andalusia during the last 10 years has moved from 1.874,98 millions in 1999 to 2.651,11 in 2008, bringing the average in this period of 2.295, 01 millions. By provinces, Malaga spent 672.08 million and 591.95 million Seville. Both are showing a greater volume. Then, is Cadiz with 397.59 million, Almería (233.62), Granada (223.71), Huelva (199.99), Cordova (184.95) and Jaen (147.22).

By sector, the volume of game remains a clear winner: the slot machines. A 70.8% of this game is for this machines with prizes. The volume of gaming machines presents a marked rise over the rest of the sectors, at 1.878,30 in 2008 and an average of million euros from 229 euros per inhabitant.

The slot machines has evolved differently than the other two predominant (bingos and casinos). It is the only one that has continued to grow moderately over time. The number of gaming machines has increased steadily over the past 10 years and now there is a park of 43,174. Seville in 9712 is, 7787 in Malaga, Cadiz (5.760), Almeria (4.898), Grenada (4,507), Huelva (3,686), Cordova (3618) and Jaen (3206).

The bingos are 17.9% of the total game. These establishments have more fluctuations in the volume game in the past 10 years, with a decreasing trend since 2005, reaching 474, 91 million in euros in 2008 with an average of 57.90 euros per inhabitant. The number of bingo halls has fallen. In 1999 there were 73 opened locals, while in 2008 the figure dropped to 58. This represents a 20.55% less in 10 years. Cadiz and Malaga with 17 halls and 16, are slightly below Seville and Huelva with eight and six halls each. The provinces of Almería, Granada and Cordova have three each, while only two Jaen.

Finally, casinos handle 11.2% of the game. Andalusia has five establishments of this type: two in Malaga, two Seville and one in Cadiz. In these three provinces recorded a volume of 190.18 million stake, 73.14 million and 34.5 million respectively, with the total set of 297.88 million. This represents an average of 36.32 euros per inhabitant.
