The New Jersey Casino Control Commission reported a 14.2 percent year-over-year decline for April.

Area casinos reported revenues of $313.6 million for the month -- down 4.8 million from March 2009.

Announced on Monday, the numbers show a 14.9 decline in slots revenue and a 12.5 percent drop in table game revenue when compared to April 2008.

Casinos paid $24.7 million on taxable gross revenue of $308.3 million in April, the commission said.

Additionally casinos won $1.3 billion during the first four months of 2009 -- shedding 15.7 percent year over year.

In a Monday note, Andrew Zarnett, an analyst with Deutsche Bank, said that the group is maintaining a "negative outlook" on the market "as the regional economy slows further and competition increases…"
