IGT to Integrate Online Gambling and Mobile Technology

26.06.2009, International Game Technology based in the USA. has announced it will restructure it's IGT-UK subsidiary in order to integrate it's mobile and online gambling operations.

This move is in line with the company's efforts to bring it's recent acquisition of interactive gambling software developer Million-2-1 in line with the UK division of its WagerWorks division. As a result of the regrouping WagerWorks will take responsibility for the sale and distribution of game content from Barcrest Group markets online. WagerWorks will also take over operations of IGT game content for mobile gaming markets developed utilising the Million-2-1’s mobile gaming platform.

The firm revealed that online gaming software provider WagerWorks would now also produce online versions of successful titles from Barcrest Group to offer content for the mobile and interactive digital television web based gaming markets. In a statement the company said that Million-2-1 would continue to focus on interactive services for media organisations and land-based retailers using mobile solutions in order to deliver new revenue sources, including competitions, mobile marketing campaigns and lotteries for international markets.

Robert White, Vice-President for IGT-UK said, "This restructure streamlines our current sales and distribution process and enables us to offer an integrated remote gaming solution to our partners through one business relationship," adding, "It is also consistent with our game development strategy of offering great game content across multiple channels including mobile and Internet. By developing new branded content and continuing to access the best games from land-based environments, I am confident we can further strengthen our games portfolio and our position as a leading content supplier."

Simon Murphy of the firm Million-2-1 was made Head Of Business Development for WagerWorks the restructuring exercise. He will be responsible for developing commercial relationships with key clients utilizing WagerWorks’ management team.
