(US).- In a conference call on second quarter results with gaming analysts yesterday, James B. Perry, President and CEO of Trump Entertainment Resorts, said us$ 150 million in credit were approved for additional hotel rooms at the Taj Mahal, as part of the company’s reorganization.

But it costs more once you get to a certain level," Perry said. The company is in the process of doing a master plan to lay out capital expenditures at Taj Mahal, Trump Plaza and Trump Marina.

Perry dismissed the notion that the company would make any casino investment in Pennsylvania or Las Vegas, given the costs involved. Decisions beyond a Taj Mahal tower will wait until the city sees the fallout of gambling expected in Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland.

If the market shifts away from bus and car day trips and into more overnight stays, it will accelerate the need for more hotel rooms.

Trump Entertainment has completed room renovations at the Taj Mahal, Trump Plaza and all but 300 rooms at Trump Marina, and that should be completed in the next nine months.
