To combine efforts and consolidate protocols
US).- The Gaming Standards Association (GSA) and International Game Technology (IGT) announced that they will work together to combine the GSA’s successful Best of Breed (BOB) Version 1.1 and IGT’s SuperSAS protocols that will lead to an open global industry standard and continue to drive innovation.
As part of the agreement, IGT will re-establish its status as a full member of GSA
This convergence is truly a milestone in the evolution of gaming machines and systems. GSA will be delighted to welcome IGT back into the group and focus on rapid adoption of the merged protocols over the next few months” said Lyle Bell, GSA Chairman.
As part of the agreement, IGT will re-establish its status as a full member of GSA and will work with the group to further the shared goals of creating one standard that will be the cornerstone for new gaming technologies including server-based applications.
“I’m pleased that we have come to terms on creating an environment that promotes innovation and provides open standards. I truly believe that this combined effort will be a great thing for all gaming interests going forward,” said TJ Matthews, IGT Chairman. “This is a pivotal accomplishment for the future success of new products and systems that will shape the future of gaming worldwide.”
