(Australia).- Aristocrat Leisure announced that it has bought a 50 per cent stake in the Slovenia- based gaming manufacturer Elektroncek for 30 million euros. The acquisition of this company, that sells products in a wide range of gaming jurisdictions, allows Aristocrat to compete in the increasingly popular multi-terminal segment of the gaming market.



The company said it would pay up to a further 10 million euros for Elektroncek depending on the achievement of certain financial targets for the next two calendar years.

"Acquisition of the interest in Elektroncek allows Aristocrat to compete in the increasingly popular multi-terminal segment of the gaming market," Aristocrat said in a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange.

Elektroncek, which makes a range of products including Roulette, Dice and Sic Bo, is forecasting revenues for the year to December 31 of about 40 million euros and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of around 10 million euros.

Aristocrat said the acquisition would have minimal net impact on its earnings in 2005 but is expected to add to earnings by around one cent per share in 2006. The acquisition allows Aristocrat to compete in the increasingly popular multi-terminal segment of the gaming market.

Elektroncek is based in Slovenia and sells its products in a wide range of gaming jurisdictions, including territories in Europe, the US, Canada and Macau.
