2007 World Series of Poker Schedule Released

World Series of Poker (WSOP)

10.01.2007, Lesen Sie hier den Bericht über «2007 World Series of Poker Schedule Released»

The schedule is out for the 2007 World Series of Poker and at first glance it does appear there are improvements to please almost everyone. The 2007 schedule promises a wide variety of games with varied buy-ins. We will see a grand total of 55 events over nearly seven weeks. Several long forgotten games are back and new, longer, bigger events are on the schedule.

The Series will kick off on June 1st with a $5,000 Mixed Hold'em event (Limit and No Limit); there will also be the traditional Casino Employees event that first day. For those who were worried that buy-ins were going to go up across the board, you can relax there are still plenty of $1,000 and $1,500 events as late as week six. The Seniors and Ladies remain $1,000 buy-in tournaments.

The Main Event will have three Day Ones with the ability to accommodate 3,000 players each. The Amazon room at the Rio will have an "addition" which will bring the total number of tables to 300. So, short of alternates, the Main Event will be able to accommodate three thousand players for each of the scheduled three First Day Flights. Whether 9,000 is or is not the magic number for WSOP 2007 will be debated right up until the Main Event begins on Friday July 6th. The Main Event schedule calls for two off days one between Day 1c and Day 2 and another just before the Final Table.

PokerNews has also been told that their will be no changes in the Main Event schedule as there were last year. Finish times for each day of play will be 2 AM with no extensions. Players will know, in advance, how long each session of each day for the entire stretch of all Series events and WSOP personnel will not alter that schedule once play begins.

Time was also a factor last year in several events other than the Main Event and those issues have also been addressed. A total of 55 bracelet events in 2007 with all events being at least two days and most three day events. Here is that break-down:

14 Two Day events 39 Three Day events 1 Five Day ($50K HORSE) 1 Eight Day (Main)

Other highlights:

There will be three HORSE Events $50,000, $5,000 and $2,500; along with a $1,000 SHOE event on July 1st.

A new mixed game, $2500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 or better.

The $10K World Championship Pot Limit Omaha is back for a second year. As is the $1K Triple Draw Lowball w/rebuys, one of the most watched events last year.

Seven Card Stud is back with more events including one Seven Stud High event and two Seven Stud Hi/Lo and the mixed Omaha/Stud event.

There will be a new Limit Hold'em Shootout and a $1,500 Seven Card Razz tournament.
