New Rummy Network
Independent from founders and plugs in to Facebook's popularity
RMRoyal Media has launched a new no-download Rummy network under the name RummyRoyal.net. The founding company claims that the network is autonomous from the RummyRoyal.com platform and is targeted on the casual gaming market.
Players can hone their skills in one or more of the wide variety of Rummy games available such as: Traditional Rummy, Oklahoma Gin, Gin, Kalooki 40 and the most popular game Rummy 51 (Kalooki). In addition to playing Rummy games through the RummyRoyal.net site, players are able to use the worlds’ largest social network Facebook application to connect and play online.
The RummyRoyal.net software was designed using flash technology allowing players to connect from any browser without having to download and install any software. The advanced interface uses available Facebook marketing features including a friendly interface to invite their Facebook friends and Leader boards and promotional coupons.
"Platforms like Facebook allow social games such as Rummy to be spread by word of mouth and take advantage of the great tools that Facebook has to offer to increase awareness of the RummyRoyal brand," said a company spokesman this week.
The RummyRoyal.net product was launched at the beginning of December 2008 and is already reporting large numbers of players who have registered accounts.
RM Royal Media has further plans to expand and integrate its game offerings into other social networks such as: MySpace and Bebo by the end of the first quarter in 2009 which will ensure growth in the number of social players and will further the popularity of the game, the spokesman revealed.

New Year Gift From The Pharaohs
Will Hill player strikes it rich
Finishing 2008 in style this week, and getting 2009 off to a running start, William Hill Casino player SimonB cracked a sublime GBP 227 054 progressive jackpot on the Pharaoh's Treasure slot....on a 40p winning line!
The thirty-something Staffordshire online player's initial stake took him to the King Tut's Tomb bonus round on the Egyptian-themed slot game, where a mixture of memory and skill helped him to unearth the three jackpot-winning Tutankhamen's masks in the bonus game, producing a life-changing win.
"I still can't quite believe it but I'll certainly be celebrating the New Year with a bang now," said the delighted player. "I've won a few hundred pounds before but nothing remotely like this. It's out of this world."
SimonB wasn't the only big winner; over at an as yet unidentified Vegas Technologies powered casino, believed to be either Golden Casino or SuperSlots, an online gambler scooped a blackjack progressive jackpot for $155 848 Sunday.
And in Sydney, Australia a factory worker who found refuge from Vietnam 20 years ago has won a A$ 6 million Powerball jackpot. The 43-year-old father of two, who wishes to remain anonymous, had his lucky numbers drawn on Christmas Day but had to wait five anxious days before his win was confirmed.
He plans to buy his two daughters a house each, pay for them to study, and continue his own studies, which he was forced to abandon when he left Vietnam, The Daily Telegraph reports.
"I'd love for my daughters to become a doctor and a teacher, good people to help Australia," he said. "When I came to Australia I had to work as a labourer to earn my living. In Vietnam I studied to become a manager - now I would like to study computing or something like that."
The man said that his life had been hard, and the big win obviously was going to change that; "Never give up hope. The future is always a blue sky. You never know what is going to happen," he said.

Entraction Launches EMP
Another Euro 100 000 main prize poker event
The Swedish Entraction poker network has launched a new Euro 100 000 main prize live tournament branded the European Masters of Poker in conjunction with some of the most exclusive land-based casinos in Europe.
The tournament will consist of a series of five live poker tournaments starting at the Olympic Casino in Tallinn, Estonia, from February 20 to 22, 2009 while the final is scheduled for September at the Casino Di Venezia in Malta. Players will be able to buy- in for Euro 1100 or win seat packages online for as little as two Euros at skins on the Entraction poker network.
"The tournaments targets all kinds of poker players with a relatively low buy-in that allows non-professional players to compete for the title of European Master of Poker," a spokesman for the Solna-based online poker firm announced.
"Despite the large selection of poker tournaments in Europe, only a few players are able to compete when the buy-in costs thousands of Euros. European Masters of Poker breaks this trend and targets the larger and more important segment of non-professional players who want to spend time with other poker players and compete for a first prize of up to Euro 100 000," he added.
The five separate tournaments are owned by Entraction's Maltese subsidiary TNPT Limited, directed by Teresa Nousiainen from Pokerielamys Limited and set to be organised by local licensed casinos in Estonia, the Czech Republic, Spain, Cyprus and Malta.
'European Masters of Poker is a great way for partners in the Entraction poker network to both attract new players and strengthen the relationship with their existing players," said Daniel Eskola, Acting Product Manager for Entraction. "The only way to guarantee a seat at the tournament is to play at a partner site in the Entraction poker network."

PokerStars Giving Away 30 PCA Seats
On Sunday, PokerStars will be dishing out 30 seats to its annual Caribbean Adventure (PCA), which takes place next month from the Atlantis Hotel and Casino on Paradise Island in The Bahamas. The luxurious hotel and its world-famous bridge suite set the stage for the $10,000 buy-in Main Event of the PCA, which begins on Monday, January 5th. Last-minute prize packages are available this weekend on the world’s largest online poker room.
On Sunday, a total of 30 PCA seats will be up for grabs. The massive satellite tournament takes place at 6:00pm ET and comes with a buy-in of $650. It’s actually the second of two PCA qualifying tournaments to be held this weekend, with ten seats having already been awarded on Saturday. Lower cost entries into the $650 satellite tournament can be found in the PokerStars lobby under “Events” and “PCA.” Both events represent some of the final chances for players to claim PCA seats before the tournament series kicks off in just a few days.
PokerStars will host several events during the PCA. Poker players flock annually to the Atlantis hotel for the European Poker Tour (EPT) sanctioned event, the only stop for the Tour on the west side of the Atlantic Ocean. Here is a look at the slate of tournaments that will take place in paradise:
Monday, January 5th: $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Main Event Wednesday, January 7th: $2,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Wednesday January 7th: $25,000 buy-in High Roller No Limit Hold’em Thursday, January 8th: $5,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Thursday, January 8th: $2,000 buy-in Battleship Friday, January 9th: $1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em
Last year was landmark for the PCA. A record 1,136 players turned out for the tournament in its first year as an EPT event. Team PokerStars Pro member Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier emerged victorious from the pack and pocketed a healthy $2 million for his efforts. Joining him at the final table in the resort located just outside Nassau were Hafiz Khan (second place for $1,094,976), Kris Kuykendall (third place for $800,000), David Pham (fourth place for $600,000), Craig Hopkins (fifth place for $450,000), Joe Elpayaa (sixth place for $300,000), Christian Harder (seventh place for $200,000), and Richard Fohrenbach (eighth place for $150,000).
Ryan “Daut44” Daut captured the 2007 PCA Main Event, winning $1.5 million. The final table included several members of the online poker community, including Isaac Haxton, Robert Mizrachi, Robert Ford, Jonathan Little, and Frank Rusnak. Steven Paul Ambrose took home victory in 2006, besting David Singer and Ozzy Sheikh in the process. Ambrose won $1.3 million.
In 2005, Englishman John Gale gained notoriety by claiming victory at the PCA, winning $850,000. Full Tilt Poker pro Nenad Medic and “Miami” John Cernuto joined Gale at the final table and ultimately finished fifth and sixth, respectively. In 2004, the PCA was held on a cruise ship and ended with Gus Hansen defeating Hoyt Corkins heads-up. John D’Agostino and PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu also made the final table of the World Poker Tour event. The PCA has since become a favorite destination for younger poker players.
Players who have won satellites into the PCA were recently given an opportunity by PokerStars to win unique adventures with the site’s sponsored pros during their stay on the island. A luxury dinner with couple Chad Brown and Vanessa Rousso, dolphin swimming with Humberto Brenes, and golfing with Daniel Negreanu were the three prizes given out as part of the Team PokerStars Pro Bahamas Experience.
The event on Sunday will be one of several noteworthy promotional events taking place on PokerStars. The site’s Sunday Million, regularly the richest online poker tournament held every week, will see its guarantee raised to $2.5 million. In addition, an $11 buy- in tournament will a $500,000 guarantee may go down as the largest online poker event ever held. A series of $10,000 added tournaments as well as a Team PokerStars Pro Championship Match are also part of the festivities.
