Brian Lemke Wins Event #15: $5,000 No Limit Holdem ($692,658)
Brian Lemke had to do it the hard way but in the end all that matters is that Lemke is the champion of Event 15 of the 2009 World Series of Pokert. He had some good fortune at various times during this final table, but you need a little luck to win tournaments, especially one with a field of this calibre. Lemke fought back valiantly against Fabian Quost, overcoming a near 4:1 chip deficit in an epic three hour heads-up battle. Lemke’s victory was a popular one, with thoughts of Lemke’s late cousin and popular poker personality, Justin Shronk, filling media row. We are sure that Shronk would’ have enjoyed this one. Lemke collects a massive $ 692,658 for his victory and the coveted gold bracelet! Thanks for following our coverage this evening and hopefully our Internet gremlins will be resolved overnight and we can enjoy interruption-free coverage tomorrow. Get some sleep kids, we’ll do it all again tomorrow! Good night from the Rio!

Congratulations to Jeff Lisandro, Winner of Event 16 ($124,959)!
Three days of seven-card stud play have produced a champion in Event 16. His name is Jeff Lisandro, and he's not a stranger to the champion's podium. This is Lisandro's second WSOP bracelet, the first coming two years ago in the same game. It was the smoothest of sailing for Lisandro at today's final table. He squeezed extra bets when he was ahead and saved them when he was behind, the hallmark of an excellent fixed-limit player. He also ran incredibly well, frustrating several of his opponents into almost giving up at his apparent invincibility. When you have opponents feeling like they can't beat you, you're in a good spot. For besting a field of 359 players, Lisandro will pocket $124,959 in prize money in addition to the aforementioned gold bracelet. Congratulations Jeff! That concludes our coverage of this event, but there's still many more weeks of WSOP action here at the Rio Convention Center. Keep your browser pointed at PokerNews.com for live coverage of each and every event!

Lisa Hamilton Wins Event 17 - $1,000 Ladies World Championship ($195,390)
It has been a super-fast final table! We are well under four hours of play at the time of bracelet being awarded, and consequently our winner looks amazingly fresh-faced for someone who has just won themselves a WSOP final table. The youthful 37 year old from Hawaii was keenly railed by friends Elky, Arnaud Mattern and Eric Liu throughout her brief final table appearance, and now takes home the juicy first prize money as well as the WSOP bracelet. Not bad for what was her first live tournament. Many congratulations to all of the final table players, and now it's back out into the Las Vegas sun for all of them to enjoy their prize money and the fabulously early finish.

Daniel Alaei
Congratulations to Daniel Alaei, Event #18 Champion ($445,898)
Event #18 kicked off on Sunday with a star-studded field of 179 players hoping to find themselves here today at the final table. The play was brutally tough from wire to wire, with no easy pots to be found anywhere. At the end of everything, only one man can have all of the chips. Today, that man is Daniel Alaei. He outlasted that whole field and a whale of a final table to capture his second gold bracelet. Alaei began the day in the middle of the pack with 17 players remaining, but he quickly announced that he would be a force to deal with as play progressed into the night. He surged to the chip lead here at the final table, never looking back once he snagged it.
Scott Clements provided the most serious challenge to Alaei today, though the two men mostly stayed out of each other's way. There was no hiding once heads-up play began though. Alaei had a nearly insurmountable chip lead when we got down to the final two, and it took just two hands for Alaei to seal the deal. He'll pocket $445,898 for his solid work over the last three days, not to mention the rare and coveted gold bracelet. And not just any bracelet; a World Championship bracelet. Congratulations to Daniel Alaei, Champion of Event #18!
