Congratulations to John-Paul Kelly, Winner of Event 20 - $1,500 Pot Limit Hold'em ($194,434)
After three gruelling days of poker and a five-hour final table, Event 20 - $1,500 Pot Limit Holdem has come to an end with John-Paul Kelly victorious!
The field contained 633 of the toughest players from around the world including John Juanda, Andy Bloch, Allen Cunningham, Brandan Cantu, Jason Mercier and JC Tran. However when the final table came back today there would be only one big name remaining, with the crowd favorite Erik Seidel in great shape to capture his ninth bracelet and fifty- fifth WSOP cash.
However Seidel would fall in seventh as UK's own John-Paul Kelly started marching up the chip counts page following some luck, a rush of cards and a great application of patience and skill. Entering heads-up play with the chip advantage against Germany's Marc Tschirch, Kelly and Tschirch would see-saw back and forth eventually falling back into even contention. However it would be UK that would take down this European battle when Kelly outdraw Tschirch on the turn to capture the $194,434 first prize, title of champion and coveted gold bracelet.
Congratulations to John-Paul Kelly for capturing the Event 20 Gold Bracelet. Make sure to stay tuned to PokerNews for the remainder of what is to be a very exciting 2009 World Series of Poker!

Congratulations to Zac Fellows, Event #21 Champion! ($311,899)
The final day of play took over 12 hours and heads-up play took over one and a half hours, but finally Zac Fellows has emerged champion of Event #21, $3,000 H.O.R.S.E.! Fellows came into today with the chip lead and kept his stack at a steady upward pace for most of the day. At one point when he got down, the poker gods came to his rescue and spiked Fellows a jack on seventh street in a round of stud to give him a better full house than his opponent. It seems like it truly was meant to be. During heads-up play, Fellows dominated the action and had his competitor, James Van Alstyne, on the brink of elimination multiple times. Eventually, the cards held for Fellows and Van Alstyne was eliminated in second place. With this win, Fellows nearly doubled his lifetime tournament winnings.
More importantly, he walked away with his first WSOP gold bracelet and will forever go down in history as a World Series champion! Congratulations to all the winners and especially to the winner Zac Fellows!

Congratulations to Jeffrey Carris, Event #22 Champion! ($313,673)
Jeffrey Carris has just polished off Jason Somerville in a quick heads-up match to complete a dominating run through this field. Play began with an even 1,000 runners three days ago, duking it out in a series of single-table contests. At the end of three rounds, Carris is the only man left standing, running through his three tables in fine fashion to complete the sweep. The play today was vicious and the battle was hard fought with no shortage of action on the felt. Carris was by no means the betting favorite at this final table today either, with Jason Somerville and Joe Cutler at the head of the class. Still, Carris would prove his mettle, essentially dominating the table from start to finish with very few slip- ups. Credit has to be given to his cheering section as well, a group of more than 25 fans who were amazingly vocal in support of their guy for the entire final table. For his big win, Jeffrey Carris will take home $313,673 and the all-important shiny gold bracelet. Congratulations to Jeff Carris, Event #22 Champion!

Congratulations to Nick Schulman, Event #23 Champion ($279,742)
Nick Schulman has won two World Poker Tour titles. He regularly crushes high-stakes cash games, both live and online.
He has over $3.8 million in career tournament earnings and at age 24 is already a veteran on the felt. But until just moments ago, he didn't have a WSOP bracelet. Schulman was a quiet, steady presence in this tournament, which drew a stacked field and some of poker's biggest personalities. Schulman entered the final table fourth in chips, but surged into the lead when he eliminated Steve Sung in third place, his T-7-5-4-3 just outrunning Sung's T-8-5-4-3. Schulman ended up heads-up with Ville Wahlbeck at a 2- 1 chip advantage and never lost the lead.
Major, major props go out to runner-up Ville Wahlbeck, the Finnish sensation that is simply tearing up the WSOP. Now the leader in the Player of the Year Race, Wahlbeck has cashed four times in four $10,000 buy-in events, making three final tables and winning his first bracelet in the $10,000 World Championship Mixed Event. Congratulations to Nick Schulman on his first WSOP bracelet and a tournament well-played.
